FELLOWS
An applicant for election or transfer to the grade of Ordinary Fellow shall satisfy the Council that:-
- He or she is at least 30 years of age.
- He or she has passed the Institution's Examination for Fellowship, or possesses Academic or Technical qualifications no less than Honours Graduateship of a British University in Electronics, Physics or Electrical Engineering, or such examinations as are, in the opinion of the Council, equivalent thereto, or submits a thesis or dissertation that is approved as adequate by the Council.
- That he or she has been engaged in a branch of Electronic Science, or its application, for not less than 10 years.
- That he or she has held a position of superior responsibility in a branch of Electronic Science, or its application, for not less than 5 years - or has carried out work or research of importance in such field for an equivalent period.
or
- An applicant for Ordinary Fellowship must have been a Member for a period of not less than 10 years, during which time he or she shall have been engaged in a position of superior responsibility in some field of the science of electronics and its application or must be a person who shall in the opinion of Council possess such qualifications as shall merit the distinction of Fellowship. If necessary the examination for Fellowship shall be taken.
